Book Marketing For Dummies

What is the number one topic of conversation at any given time in a circle of writers?

MARKETING!

Frankly I don’t see what all the fuss is about: book marketing is as easy as walking butt-naked over fire-hot razor-sharp rocks*.

*Disclaimer: I have never done this.

Here are my top 3 strategies:

#3: Social Media Presence

Comment about your books on EVERY post you see. Someone said “good morning”? Drop a link. They got engaged? Drop a link. Their cat died? Drop a link! You get the gist.

The block/sale ratio will probably be around 50/50, but I like those odds.

#2: Repetition

Also called “subliminal marketing”. Post exactly the same thing every day and ideally multiple times a day. People will literally dream about your posts and will want to make the dreams stop. By buying your book.

Foolproof approach.

#1: Create controversy

Open a can of worms. Post a disgusting hot take that will make everyone feel sick at the sight of your profile picture alone.  Unbeatable! Golden standard! Your dashboard will THANK YOU! That my friend is the winning ticket to going viral!

If you think that any or all these strategies are rubbish, fine, suit yourself: you can always hire one of the expert book marketers lurking, I mean, hanging around social media platforms.

When she was a child, Bella believed she could control the wind.

One day, when she was about 6 years old, she read The Snow Queen and fell in love with books.

After that, she never stopped writing, particularly enjoying creating chronicles and short stories.

Bella graduated in Biology and joined a postgraduate school, decided to pursue a career in Science, but her passion for the written word never dimmed and she continued to scribble here and there, drafting several novels and short stories in the past years.
